The Church of San Lorenzo

The Church of San Lorenzo (but everyone calls it San Francesco!)

Just outside the ancient walls of Asciano stands a truly impressive church! Even though its official name is the Church of San Lorenzo, everyone knows it as the Church of San Francesco, because it used to be part of a large Franciscan convent.

Many of the artworks that were once inside this church can now be admired at the Palazzo Corboli Museum… a real journey through time among saints, painters, and wonders!
